Ladies WSOP Grand Final
With the World Series of Poker just around the corner, and with our Main Event Grand Finals already in full swing, we gave the ladies their shot with our Ladies WSOP Grand Final.
The Ladies Only event is a great feature of the World Series, letting the ladies of the felt duke it out to find the best female player.
Our Ladies Grand Final, with a first prize of $2,500 package to the World Series for the ladies event, had
39 ladies fighting for their shot at a trip to Las Vegas for the World Series.
Down to 3 and will all three ladies right in it, we had one of the craziest tournament hands I have seen for a while.
The stacks looked like this:
When this hand was dealt, all 3 players were looking down at a pocket pair. First to act was Renorocket and she pushed all-in with her pocket pair of 9’s, Irishgirl followed her all-in with her pocket jacks and acesforheather joined the others with her pocket 10’s. Everyone miss ed on the rainbow flop so IrishGirl was in front with her jacks and the other ladies could only beat her with a 10 or a 9 respectively. With more blanks on the turn and the river the short stack was now the big stack and we were down to 2.
IrishGirl was under pressure all the way to the finish, with acesforheather keeping the heat on, often pushing all-in from the small blind. IrishGirl kept her composure and held off making the call till she was sure she had a fighting hand.
Down to 20,000 in chips and looking at K-2 in the small blind, acesforheather kept her foot on gas and again moved all-in. Unfortunately it was IrishGirl with an ace, she looked down at A-5 all clubs and decided to make a stand, and made the call. The flop and turn missed everbody but an ace on the river meant it was aces for IrishGirl, and IronGirl had won her way to this years World Series of Poker.
So congratulations to all our ladies for some great poker, and especially to our Ladies WSOP Grand Final winner for 2007, IrishGirl.
Keep your eye out for our for more WSOP action with our final 2007 World Series Grand Final on June 2nd.
